So, the new EP from Rainbow Arabia, i posted the Basta EP from last year two weeks ago. Rainbow Arabia, just some good arabian beats, with psychedelic sounds. if Rainbow Arabia used more instruments instead of Electronic sounds it was one of the coolest new bands. It's still pretty cool (but too electronic for me)
"Awake" the intro song, a very soft song, and just at the moment that you're dreaming away in the warm guitars and community singing beards. The noise starts in "Moment". This is Angels of Light & Akron/Family, very unpredictable and freaky but at the same time very folky and warm.
Hello Folks, this is some pretty new tropical shit, coming from the mind of Matt Mondanile (Ducktails). It's a little EP with only two numbers, i think there will be a full length album later this year.
It's a sort of sleepy tropical rock sound, a bit like vampire weekend mixed with pomegranates playing at a warmer place.
Again, i got some pretty good stuff from Knots. Hehe, it sounds like he's my local drugsdealer. However this could be a calming kind of drug. And it definitly takes you away from earth for a while. And Stag Hare was also very spiritual, so maby he really is my local drugsdealer! Anyway, he told me to check this out. And imidiatly, the cover took my atention. Very nice cover art.
The album itself sounds very epic, but not directly bombastic or big. More sober and gentle. Vocals (both male and female) and the vary of instruments (mostly snare) reminds me of Sigur Ros. Also because the language isn't always very clear it has that surreal Sigur Ros-likeley thing. But this is certlainly not a rip off. But the influence is there. It also reminds me of Talk Talk in songs like Beliriand and Fools Gold. But enough with the references. People who like to drown in atmospheric/surreal and lonesome mind state should give it a try. A perfect album when the rain runs down the window. It sounds kinda corny, but honest.
Flo & Eddie. The Founding members of "the Turtles" and the psychedelic hippies of "the Mothers of Invention". In 1973 they made there own album "the Phlorescent Leech & Eddie" verry poppy and good for everybody to listen.
So, if you don't like difficult music download FLO & EDDIE.
First off, i'm sorry for shameless copying the Cymande piece of last.fm It won't happen again! Normally we just wright our own stuff, but we had to deal with a deadline that i just made up somehow :p And we are kinda lazy too. Our apologies. Sooner or later it will be fixed anyway.
Then i can imagine some people will fall over the blog title. Even my blog palls hate it. I know, it could be less pretentious, but it's just a catchy quote from one of the best movies ever made, Blade Runner. It just came up in my head. Like i often like to rattle movie quotes all over the place. Geeky me, hihi. To make an end of all the guessing and speculating (i know, it proberly be the gossip of the month) i will post this short segment that will all clear it up.
Do you like our owl? It's artificial? Of course it is. Must be expensive. Very.
Cymande were an eclectic band who released several albums throughout the early seventies. They arrived in London, England from Guyana and Jamaica and developed a subtle, deep funk style heavily influenced by Calypso rhythms, Jazz, African music, and American Soul.
Cymande can now be seen as one of the most sophisticated of the heavy funk acts that evolved in the early 1970's.
By the mid-seventies the band members were going their separate ways. It wasn't until 20 years later that they reaped any financial rewards, as their music became a popular source for samplers.
Hello folks. 3 guys, 3 penis's and a shared interest: we all love good music. And we do not like bad music. I know, it's kinda odd.
Our purpose with this blog is very simpel:
1. Make money over other peoples back. 2. Take over and crash the internet. 3. Let Bill Gates offer us a gigantic bag of money. 4. Coldplay come to our house and sign a big ass contract because of our major influence in the music business.
Or just share good music with the world. People might miss something or have trouble finding the album on the web. And we are here to help you guys, yay! However it's all for promotional use only. If you realy like it, you should buy it. If you don't, your an asshole.
